How to Wire Batteries in Parallel

Use parallel wiring when you want more capacity and runtime without increasing system voltage.

For two 12V batteries:

  1. Connect positive to positive.
  2. Connect negative to negative.
  3. Connect the system cables to the completed battery bank.

The voltage remains the same while amp-hour capacity adds together.

Two 12V 100Ah batteries = 12V 200Ah

Use matching batteries at a similar state of charge. Cable length and resistance between batteries should also be kept as consistent as practical to encourage even current sharing.
