If the batteries in a bank are at different states of charge, one battery may reach its protection limits before the others.
To rebalance the bank:
- Disconnect the batteries from one another and from the system.
- Charge each battery individually using an appropriate charger.
- Allow the batteries to rest briefly after charging.
- Check the voltage of each battery.
- Once they are at similar states of charge, reconnect the bank.
- Verify system voltage before reconnecting loads.
Starting with matching batteries and keeping the bank connected and charged together helps reduce future imbalance.
