Before connecting anything, determine the voltage required by your equipment and whether you are using a single battery or a multi-battery bank.
For a basic single-battery system:
- Confirm the battery voltage matches the equipment.
- Connect the positive battery terminal to the positive system cable through appropriate overcurrent protection.
- Connect the negative terminal to the negative system cable.
- Verify polarity before energizing the system.
- Make sure all connections are clean, tight, and properly insulated.
For multiple batteries, the wiring arrangement depends on what you are trying to accomplish:
- Series: increases voltage.
- Parallel: increases capacity while keeping voltage the same.
Use properly sized cable and circuit protection for the current the system can draw.
