Hometown: Riverview, Michigan
Hello, I am a born and raised Michigander that has always loved the outdoors. Ever since I can remember I have had a fishing pole in my hand trying to catch them Biggins. Fishing is my passion, and there is something about fishing in a kayak that makes it that much more enjoyable. I love being able to show people how to fish that never had and getting them into kayak fishing, the sport we all love!
Fishing really is an all year sport. Only down time is waiting for the ice to get thick enough to be safe to walk on!

Growing up, my Grandparents lived on a lake and I like to say that is where the “Fishing Bug” all started. I remember every night when I was there, visualizing myself hooking into a monster every time I took a cast. As I grew up in South East Michigan and merely 5 minutes away from Lake Erie, Dad and I would take every opportunity we could to get out and go fishing. Great Grandpa was also a Conservation officer in Pennsylvania during his younger years and he always mentioned how he did things the right way. He hunted and fished with folks, observing, learning, teaching and guiding them on what to do and where to go and how to pay respect to Mother Nature. Both he and my dad were the biggest mentors for me when it came to the outdoors. Their ideals and values have been instilled in me and to this day and I have not strayed away from them. I ended up buying my first canoe back in 2011 so I could go out and fish local lakes on a whim, and get into spots i never was able to on a boat. It was fun, relaxing, and where I finally found my true passion. In the summer of 2013 I bought my first sit on top kayak. Things were so much easier to manage than the big ol canoe, especially for fishing and I haven’t looked back since. I started incorporating kayaking into some of my other adventures including a 9 day 8 night Kayaking Trip in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Kayaks have allowed me to got to places I never dreamed of. Why do I fish from a kayak? This is often a question I get and It’s hard to explain sometimes. But to sum things up… Breathing in the crisp morning air, seeing the fog lifting off the water, the glow of the sunrise, the preparation for tournaments and trips, the desire to hit the water consumes me each and every day. It’s all about the experience, the rush, the fish zipping line off your reel, and most of all, bringing family and friends new and old, together to experience mother nature on a whole new level.
