Storage Capacity

96 Ampere hours (Ah). Dakota Lithium batteries provide consistent power for all 96 Amp hours. DL LiFePO4 batteries have a flat voltage curve, which means they have a steady power output as the battery discharges. The power output will not dramatically drop like similar sized SLA batteries. You get all the juice down to the last drop.

Battery Range

For carts with a max speed of 23 mph or less expect a battery range of 40 - 60 miles depending on cart model. For carts with a max speed of 27 mph expect a battery range of 30 - 40 miles. Wire 2 units in parallel to double the battery range.

Lifecycles (battery lifespan)

Up to 100% capacity for 2,000 recharge cycles (100%DOD), 80% capacity at ≥4,000 recharge cycles (80%DOD), 50% capacity at ≥6,000 (50%DOD - battery half life). The typical SLA has 500 cycles. Dakota Lithium batteries last so long that the price per use is a fraction of traditional batteries.

Operating temperature

Ideal for rugged & harsh environments. Much better than SLA or other lithium’s. -20°F min, +120°F max optimal operating temps (battery performs well down to -20°F). Avoid charging below 32°F.


100A max continuous, 200A max pulse for 3-5 minutes. The flat discharge voltage curve provides a 75% bigger capacity then a SLA 100Ah battery.


50A max, 57.6V recommended. Free 48V 8A LiFePO4 battery charger is included.

Includes active BMS protection

Contains a circuit that handles cell balancing, low voltage cutoff, high voltage cutoff, short circuit protection and temperature protection for increased performance and longer life. A LiFePO4 battery charger is required to turn the battery back on after a BMS cut off (included w purchase).


All batteries are UN38 certified. Dakota Lithium's cells are UL1642 certified and have been tested per IEC62133 standards. Meets all US & International regulations for air, ground, train, & marine transport.

Charger Included

Free 48V 8A LiFePO4 charger included. Dakota Lithium 48V batteries should be charged at 57.6 volts, higher than AGM or lead acid. Lead acid chargers will work, but will only charge the battery to 80% of capacity. Upgrade to 48V 15A charger for 2X the charging time.

How Much Power do I need for my golf cart?

This single 48V battery will replace a set of 6V, 8V, or 12V batteries in a 48V cart. This battery is suitable for most carts with a max speed of less than 27 mph and a motor controller rated under 240 Amps. If your motor controller is rated 240 Amps or higher, you may need two of these 48V batteries in parallel (some dune buggies, off-road carts, ATVs, and high speed carts fall into this category).

How Much Power do I need for Solar Panels?

Each battery has 4.6 kWh of power storage. 48V has an efficiency advantage for solar energy systems (google 48V vs 12V for solar energy). 500 - 800 watts of solar panel capacity with a 48V solar charge controller would fully charge this battery daily.

This thing is AMAZING! Still not happy about the website saying it was available only to find out it was not then having so wait 2 months for it… but I can’t believe the difference in my cart wow wow wow! Also I wish it would have come with some sort of directions or even suggested installation methods something.

Works very well in my 2015 EZ GO golf cart! For safety reasons I installed a 100 amp. kill switch and a led readout gauge for battery voltage and what the charge percentage was on the new battery. I hope this helps out other people thinking about leaving the lead acid batteries…..a win win!!

Very satisfied with the performance of the 48v Lithium. I used it to power my Star EV Classic. I replaced 8-6v lead acids. At 62 lbs. each, it was a weight reduction of over 400 lbs. More torque and much longer range as a result of the swap. From my experience I would highly recommend the Dakota 48v Lithium


Our customer has not ran his equipment enough to know anything about how the battery is performing yet. So far so good! Replaced my lead acid batteries in December and I’m very happy with my decision. I have had zero issues with the transfer and the performance is as good if not better due to less weight. Low end performance is better and top end is the same. I’d recommend switching if you are in the market for battery replacement.

The install was pretty straight forward.
The install was done on a 2017 Ezgo Rxv golf cart. There were 6, 8 volt, lead acid batteries in the cart. Each weighing 63 pounds. The Dakota 48v 96Ah battery only 76pounds. Weight reduction of around 300 pounds. Plus the 20 or 30 pound of steel supporting the 8 volt batteries.
I did have to modify the battery tray to allow the Dakota battery to fit.
There were steel separators welded between the 8 volt batteries. Once removed and a little grinding the Dakota fit in just fine. I’ve had it in for a week now and looking at the SOC meter the rage will be in the neighbor hood of 50 Miles probably more.
