I just completed our first trip with the new Dakota batteries and we are getting ready to leave again in a few hours. We have a 25 ft Airstream Flying Cloud, and I installed the battery conversion, removed the 2 old lead acid deep Cycle batteries from the outside tongue box and relocated the Two Dakota 100 To an indoor space directly behind the power converter.

Installed a Secure battery base with nylon straps, moved the battery disconnect relay, and installed a temperature Controlled vent fan. Switched out the converter power supply/ charger to the new Lion version ?

We have not come close to completely discharging the new batteries yet. 1/2 the weight and double the capacity!

My main reason for relocation is thermal management to make sure the batteries last and don’t get too hot or cold, and it was “dead space” that is unused

With the solar panels we expect to be able to boondock for weeks or more

This is the 3rd battery I have purchased from Dakota Lithium. They undoubtedly make the best most reliable batteries. Along with reliability they are the lightest batteries available. My next battery will also be a Dakota Lithium.

This is my second battery I bought and have been enjoying both. I also bought a 54 aH battery and use both on my kayak at the same time. I used the 100aH for a trolling motor and the 54aH to run my side imaging Hummingbird unit. If they last as long as promised it is money very well spent. Both battery’s are less weight than the lead acid battery they replaced and the power these batteries supply is significantly better, especially for performance of the trolling motor. It now runs all day with very little power loss. By the end of the day, with a 30 Minn kota, I’m running at 3.3 mph (3.5 mph fully charged) where with the lead acid battery I was only able to get 2.3 mph by the end of the day.

I have not installed and connected my battery in my Old Town Sportsman 120 MK kayak yet, so I can’t give a full 10.

Couldn’t be happier with this battery. Runs all my electronics and and starts up the Yamaha 250. For two days on one charge.
