Recommended Charger: 12V 10A or 12V 20A (not included).

Technical Specifications

  • Best in Class 11 Year Warranty: World-class quality with an eleven-year manufacturer defect warranty.
  • Storage Capacity: 100 Ampere hours (Ah). Dakota Lithium batteries provide consistent power for all 100 Amp hours. DL LiFePO4 batteries have a flat voltage curve, which means they have a steady power output as the battery discharges. The power output will not dramatically drop like similar sized SLA batteries. You get all the juice down to the last drop.
  • Voltage: 12.8V (Dakota Lithium 12V batteries can be used in series for up to 48V systems)
  • Energy: 1280 Watt-hours (Wh)
  • Terminals: M8 bolt size. (Max torque 15 ft. lbs.)
  • Size: 10.23"L x 6.60"W x 8.66"H (260mm x 169mm x 215mm) (220mm to top of terminal) Group 24 equivalent.
  • Weight: 27.55 lbs (12.5Kg). That's 60% lighter than a SLA battery.
  • Group Size 24: BCI Group Number 24 & Group 24 equivalent / compatible for physical dimensions (L x W x H) & terminal location. Usable deep cycle capacity is much higher (2x) than a lead-acid battery of the same group size. Deep cycle only. Not for starting engines.
  • Lifecycles (battery lifespan): Up to 80% capacity for 5,000 cycles in recommended conditions. The typical SLA has 500 cycles. Dakota Lithium batteries last so long that the price per use is a fraction of traditional batteries.
  • Operating temperature: Ideal for rugged & harsh environments. Much better than SLA or other lithium’s. -4°F to 140°F (-20°C to 60°C) optimal operating temps.
  • Discharge: 100A max continuous, 200A max pulse 10 second pulse. The flat discharge voltage curve provides a 75% bigger capacity than a 100Ah SLA battery.
  • Charge: 50A max, 14.4V recommended, 15V max A SLA charger may work, but will reduce performance and lifespan of the battery.
  • Includes active BMS protection: Contains a circuit that handles cell balancing, low voltage cutoff, high voltage cutoff, short circuit protection and high temperature protection for increased performance and longer life.
  • Certifications: Dakota Lithium's cells are UL1642 certified and have been tested per IEC62133 and UN 38.3 standards. They meet all US and international regulations for air, ground, and train transport.
  • ISO 9001:2015: Dakota Lithium is ISO Certified per 9001:2015 standards, and select models are produced in ISO 14001 certified facilities.
  • Recommended Charger: 12v 10A LiFePO4 Charger (Sold Separate). Dakota Lithium 12V batteries should be charged at 14.4 volts, higher than AGM or lead acid. Lead acid chargers will work, but will only charge the battery to 80% of capacity.
  • Internal Even-Heat Technology: Helps protect the battery when charging in cold temperatures. When the battery is charged in temperatures below 0°C (32°F), the internal heating element warms the cells to 5°C (41°F), reducing the risk of damage to the battery cells during charging in cold conditions.
  • NOT for Starting Engines: This is a deep cycle 12V battery. Not designed for starting gasoline engines.
  • 11 Year Warranty

So, I'm connecting these batteries in parallel for a sailboat battery bank. I don't think this is an uncommon application. We're using 2/0 AWG cables, and we had to get new (longer) attachment post bolts to accommodate the cables. I know DL saves manufacturing costs by not supplying longer posts and deeper sockets, but these batteries are not usable out of the box. An additional $30 of hardware for my four batteries was required, for what should be a foreseeable use application.

Day and night difference!

I bought three of these batteries to replace my Interstate batteries for the trolling motor. Interstates were two years old and could barely support 2hours of catching bait and 3hours of fishing(5hours for the day). The Dakota batteries showed a full charge after my last 4hour trip. I have a MinnKota 112lb thrust on a 2013 Edgewater 245CC, fishing the Gulf of Mexico in about 800ft of water. I also shaved more than 100lb of battery from the boat. I am sold!

So far so good

I have a 16' lund. The weight reduction due to getting this battery increased my top spread by 1/2 mph. When using the trolling motor at Lake Champlain it lasted all day with out the loss of power that I have experienced when using traditional batteries. As my son would say "Game Changer". Additionally, Jamie Richard's was excellent in answering my questions and assisting on getting one of my batteries on time for my trip, thank you Jamie.

Used this battery for my Electronics and live target keeps voltage up above 12.5 never went below that excellent That’s on my bass boat Plus have three more Batteries two for trolling motor One for starting boat motor and running all other things in boat except electronics

I've only used it one time. It did much better than the 60lb. lead acid. The 12v. 100ah. weighs 23lb. that's good for my kayak !
