great unit that I use on board for my kayak fish finder…

Solid construction and holds charge well. Adding an inverter to allow plugging in small appliances would make it even better.

Used it to power my Garmin mobile fish finder (CHIRP + GPS). Lasted about 8 hours over two consecutive days, then had enough juice to charge my Samsung S20 5G from 5% to 55%. Very happy about the energy density!

I was looking for a small, waterproof, 12v power source with excellent reviews to use with my new Lowrance Elite-9 Ti2 as a portable system. I found several that met some of my criteria, but none met them all until I came to the Dakota Powerbox 10. I ordered it online, got immediate confirmation, and delivery was before the promised date. It arrived with about 1/3 charge and was fully charged in less than 2 hours (after finally reading the instructions to connect the negative wire inside the box). I found bayonet connectors at a Radio Shack and powered up the Lowrance. TIP: It has to be grounded for it to work correctly…just put a hand on the power cord when you’re not on the water. I plan to use the system in different boats, but if I end up buying one, my Dakota will still be there as a backup power source.
