Storage Capacity

135 Ampere hours (Ah). Dakota Lithium batteries provide consistent power for all 135 Amp hours. DL LiFePO4 batteries have a flat voltage curve, which means they have a steady power output as the battery discharges. The power output will not dramatically drop like similar sized SLA batteries. You get all the juice down to the last drop.

Lifecycles (battery lifespan)

Up to 80% capacity for 2,500 cycles in recommended conditions. The typical automotive SLA has 500 cycles. Dakota Lithium batteries last so long that the price per use is a fraction of traditional batteries.

Waterproof Rating

IP 67 waterproof rating achieved through robotic liquid welding of the lid and terminals.

Operating temperature

Ideal for rugged & harsh environments. Much better than SLA or other lithium batteries. -20°F min, +150°F max optimal operating temps (battery performs well down to -20°F). Internal even-heat technology allows for charging below 32°F. BMS high temp cut off at 167°F / 75°C.

Discharge

135A max continuous discharge, 1000A max 2 second pulse, 900A max 5 sec pulse. 9.0V Max discharge, 11.0V Max recommended discharge.The flat discharge voltage curve provides a 75% bigger capacity than a 135Ah SLA battery with the same CCA rating.

Peak / Continuous Charge

Recommend for longest life 70A or less (.5C), Peak charge acceptance 165A max for one minute, 200A max BMS cutoff. Max continuous 135A (1C). 14.4V recommended, 15V max, BMS protection from over charging will cut off at 15V. Included is a free 12V 10 Amp (A) LiFePO4 compatible charger that charges at the recommended 14.4 Volts..

Max Charge / Alternator Size

Peak charge acceptance 165A max for one minute, 200A max BMS cutoff. Drop in replacement for lead acid and AGM starter batteries for vehicles. Limited to a max alternator size of 150 amps or less per battery (link multiple batteries in parallel for alternators >150 Amps).

Contains a high discharge capable circuit that handles cell balancing, low voltage cutoff (10V) preventing over discharge, high voltage cutoff (15V) preventing over charging, short circuit protection and temperature protection for increased performance and longer life.

Internal Even-Heat Technology

Increases performance in extreme cold. When charging the battery in temperatures below 0°C/32°F DL's internal heating element will warm the cells to 0°C/32°F. This increases the lifespan, performance, and efficiency of the battery.

Certifications

Dakota Lithium's cells are UL1642 certified and have been tested per IEC62133 and UN 38.3 standards. They meet all US and international regulations for air, ground, and train transport.

Charger Included

12V 10A LiFePO4 charger included. Dakota Lithium 12V batteries should be charged at 14.4 volts, higher than AGM or lead acid. Lead acid chargers will work, but will only charge the battery to 80% of capacity.

A CASE FOR THE Dakota 135AMP HOUR BATTERY

I am 77 years old with an injured back and can’t lift a lot of weight, so I thought purchasing the 60Ah battery was a no brainer! but when it came to replacing it, due to back order,  but immediate need for a trolling motor battery, I looked at buying 2 of the lesser amp hour batteries.
I would run them in parallel even though they may need a little extra work hooking up and un-hooking and having to carry both to charge away from our pontoon boat.

I looked at the 100Ah battery. It was inexpensive, but heavier and larger compared to the 60 or the 135. Especially since I would have to move it often.

I looked at the 60 Power Box and it looked very appealing but may not carry the possible demand for outages at house and cottage.  It would be terrific on the boat though!

The 135Ah battery weighs exactly the same as the 60 power box and much smaller, the size of the 60Ah battery itself, and I don’t really need an inverter at this point! And besides, the 135 amp battery is totally waterproof due to the meticulous sealing of the battery.

Being that the 135 has approximately 2.25 times the capacity of the 60 at the same size and only 10 pounds more, this seems to be a good option.

I am charging the battery in the cottage, so I will have to carry it up from our launch behind cottage only every 5 to 8 fishing trips or so, due to its larger capacity and the low 30Ah draw of the trolling motor.

Also, I can purchase a larger draw trolling motor without changing batteries.

So, do I think Dakota’s 135AMP hour battery is an excellent choice? Absolutely!
