I use mine for portable power on my boat for large screen marine electronics I don’t have permanently installed, and for work where the demands are greater. The box is heavier than I thought it would be, but so far there has been no shortage of available power.

This rig is awesome, couldn’t be happier! Will be ordering the 180 watt solar blanket to go with it soon! Thanks Dakota!

Extremely well made and durable. Very pleased with product performance as well in cold climates. Holds charge extremely well and easy to use in the field. My thanks to the Dakota team that helped with my purchase and ongoing support for the few questions I had.

I used the powerbox to run my lights nightfishing for spec. It would be nice if you could plug into 110 without having to open the box so that everything would remain waterproof. Just a suggestion tho. 💯

A couple of years ago I bought a Dakota 7AH battery, and used it in an old Craftsman 12v emergency jumper/power supply. It fit perfectly in place of the original lead acid battery that had long since died. I removed the 120v charge port & put power pole connectors in its place, giving me that option in addition to the cigar lighter port and the larger battery cable clamps. This was a versatile usable unit once again and can be recharged either through the power pole connectors or the battery clamps when they are turned on.

My next purchase was a Dakota 10AH battery that I found useful when I became an amateur radio operator and wanted a battery for portable use and back up for power outages. I soon added a 2’nd 10AH battery, and have them connected in series and available to power my rig with the flip of a switch. Depending on my mode of operation, I can run a couple of days before the voltage drops below 12V.

I had my eye on the big power box for a long time, and finally ordered one that I can use also with my portable solar panels. It’s an excellent combination that I’ve tested, but haven’t used in a blackout situation yet. I decided to buy an additional battery that matches the one in the Power Box, and I now have the option of using the 300W inverter in the Power Box for small loads, and adding the additional battery in series, and feeding a 1500W Pure sine wave inverter for larger loads under a longer duration power failure. I will be adding a couple more solar panels in the future, and the dual purpose batteries mean that I can charge from my alternator if needed.

There are cheaper batteries available, but the customer support and warranty from Dakota Lithium offer peace of mind mean a lot as well.
