Hometown: Kansasville, Wisconsin
I can’t remember a time in my life that I wasn’t fishing. Growing up in the south, I spent most of my life barefoot with a fishing pole in my hand. Whether it was fishing with shrimp off bridges in Florida, or casting from shore into farm ponds in Georgia, fishing has always been passion. About 16 years ago I moved to Wisconsin, and found a whole new love – ice fishing! If you’re looking for me in the winter, you’ll find me on the ice with my wife and kids.
Ice fishing in winter
I want to compete in the NAIFC this year
I have won first place in largemouth bass and northern pike categories in local ice fishing tournaments. My most memorable fishing experience was this past winter. I was on a mission to catch a lake trout. For 4 days straight I battled the elements. Finally, I saw a big mark on my Garmin LiveScope about 60 feet down (40 feet from the bottom where I had been jigging) and reeled up quick. He took the bait, and after a hard fight, I landed a beautiful 32.5” lake trout. To say that I could not have done it without my LiveScope, powered by Dakota Lithium batteries, is an understatement. I would have never saw that fish so high in the water column if it wasn’t for that!
Shortly after moving to Wisconsin, I went out with a group of friends to fish. I caught a few pike, and was instantly “hooked”.
